WORSHIP;
This committee is responsible
for planning, implementing and evaluating parish prayer and
worship in accordance with diocesan policies and directives.
The committee includes the following tasks: Liturgy celebrations, music,
lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, altar servers
CHRISTIAN FORMATION:
This committee is responsible
for planning, implementing and evaluating parish religious
formation at all age levels according to the needs of the
parish and of the wider community in accordance with the
educational policies of the Diocese of Richmond.
Includes: Sunday School, RCIA,
Youth and Adult formation.
JUSTICE AND PEACE;
This group plans, implements
and evaluates the social justice ministry of the parish. It
helps to meet the needs of the poor and oppressed, both
locally and globally; to reflect on the Gospel’s social
teaching and on the underlying causes of social problems (in
collaboration with Christian Formation and Worship); and to
transform social structures through legislative advocacy,
peace making, and other efforts. This ministry encourages
parishioners to build a culture of life through their
family, work and citizenship.
PARISH COMMUNITY LIFE;
This body is responsible for
promoting the spirit of community in the parish. Its
function includes consistent and planned efforts to
strengthen relationships among all segments and individuals
within the parish in order to foster a truly hospitable
atmosphere. The committee is particularly concerned about
reaching out to new and inactive members, and involving them
in parish activities. Sunday socials, pot-lucks, picnics.
ADMINISTRATION:
This committee is responsible
for the smooth operation of the parish and for the care of
the parish facilities, including care and upkeep of parish
buildings and grounds. Administration should provide support
for all other ministries of the parish. One key task of
administration therefore should encouraging or guiding the
stewardship program of the parish.
