Stations of the Cross

This devout exercise of the Stations of the Cross helps renew our remembrance of the sufferings which our divine redeemer underwent on his journey from Pilate's guard, where he was condemned to death, to Mount Calvary, where for our salvation he died on the cross.

First Station: Jesus is condemned to death.

V.) We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee (Genuflect)

R.) Because by thy holy cross thou hast redeemed the world (Rise)

O Jesus so meek and uncomplaining, teach me resignation in trials

(Optional Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be.)

Second Station: Jesus bears His cross.

V.) We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee (Genuflect)

R.) Because by thy holy cross thou hast redeemed the world (Rise)

My Jesus, this cross should be mine not thine; My sins crucified thee.

(Optional Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be.)

Third Station: Our Lord falls the first time.

V.) We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee (Genuflect)

R.) Because by thy holy cross thou hast redeemed the world (Rise)

Fifth Station: Jesus is helped by Simon

V.) We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee (Genuflect)

Simon unwillingly assisted thee. May I with patience suffer all for thee.

(Optional Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be.)

Sixth Station: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.

V.) We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee (Genuflect)

R.) Because by thy holy cross thou hast redeemed the world (Rise)

O Jesus, Thou didst imprint Thy Sacred features upon Veronica's veil; Stamp them also indelibly upon my heart.

(Optional Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be.)

Seventh Station: The second fall of Jesus.

Eighth Station: Jesus consoles the women.

V.) We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee (Genuflect)
